Motorcycle riders have always had same problem with this type of nozzle. The solution is a small flat plate which you clip on nozzle to lock neck seal back. This will allow you to fill without having seal against tank fill tube.

This code indicates a problem with the evap system vent valve. A stuck closed vent valve will affect the fueling if air cant get out of the tank while fueling you will have a hard time filling the tank. You didnt say what yearmodel you have so the valve may be near the fuel tank or inside the tank.
Basically the tank vents into a charcoal canister and if the lines are blocked or if liquid fuel gets into the charcoal canister or vent lines the tank wont vent properly and the pump thinks the tank is full. If you want to make your gas pumping faster prior to your getn the tank fixedjust fill up a 5gallon jug or a ten gall jug and pour it into tankwould seem a little faster. Turns out something from a gas pump must of happened from previous owner was logged in the tank. Looked like a small plastic rubber gasket tube. Fills gas normally now.
Just a heads up if someone else has this issue. Guess from the tech was someone filled it up with gas from a plastic carriercheaper pump and didnt use the funnel. The Low Fuel warning light is located on the instrument panel.
