No compression in 2 cylinders

I wanted to attach a video but apparently cant. Low compression in all cylinders would tell you the rings and cylinders are worn and the engine needs to be overhauled.

Took my car in and find out i no compression in cylinder 2 on a 2004 745li any one had this happed to them.

No compression in 2 cylinders. Checked compression again and now we have 40psi in two cylinders 1 and 4. So next swapped rockers and lifters between cyls1 and 2 and between cyls 3 and 4. My car refused to start one morning and it was towed to the dealership.

Dealership sighted no compression on cylinder 2 and recommended removing cylinder head to check issue. Report I received back. 72 22 - 72 22.

09-08-2012 0154 AM. No compression on cylinder 2 after putting a new remanufactured cylinder head and pistonsrings. I did replaced the old cylinder head cause the old one was all messed up after a valve seat came off and broke the piston etc.

Discussion Starter 1 Feb 22 2007. This is for my bro who has an 04 QC yesterday the truck was sputtering very badly and got it to a garage where they did a compression test. Came back with 125 to 130 psi in all cylinders but 2.

No compression in 2 at all. Valve spring broken. Cylinder 2 has no compression due to the valve spring not shutting.

If the valve spring is broke it can be replaced without removing the cylinder head. The labor guide shows 8 hours labor to replace the valve springs or valve seals on one bank they. I followed the directions on my brand new compression tester which said to pull one plug at a time which is different then the FO-4 which says remove all plugs.

The engine was warm but not hot when I did the test. I got 100 on first cylinder closest to the fan 95 on second 90 on third and 0 on the fourth closest to steering wheel. Answer 1 of 12.

Posted November 2 2016. You may have to take the cylinder head off but first set number three at TDC and use your compression tester hose to put compressed air into the number three spark plug hole. Then listen to the carb exhaust pipe or remove the oil cap to hear air escaping.

Check manual compression in that cyl. Then check one thats not missing you will probably find compression low or none in cyl 2 could be valves in the head stuck open bent cracked head or head gasket leaking into cyl 2 or possibly in the lower end crankcase. I would defcheck compression first before anything else.

He stripped his engine completely and fix his problem and then put it al back together.
