RUST is nothing more than signs that the metal is oxidizing slowly but oxidizing none-the-less.
Fire is rapid oxidization. SO if you got a FASTER truck the frame wouldnt rust but it would burn. I pass trucks rusting away all day long.

Dirt and moisture get trapped inside the metal seams and bracing under the trailer and the rust they cause slowly works to the outside. There are lots of moisture and dirt traps under those trailers. The only way to stop this rust is to keep the moisture away from the metal by cleaning away the dirt and salt and using a rust preventative solution.
Cant galvanise a painted trailer without removing the paint first sand blasting takes care of this removes the rust where you can blast. Galvanising will only coat the rust if not removed. You can not blast the inside to remove the rust.
