Vhf antenna mount t top. Im getting ready to mount the VHF antenna to the T-top as was wondering how other have done it. The two places Im considering are. The small plate either on the Port or Starboard outer Forward edge.
The alumniumum plate closer to the center of. There are outrigger mounting plates which seem to have enough room in front of the opening to locate the SS VHF antenna ratchet mount. It would seem that this is the best location as it doesnt require any drilling in any of the T-Tops structural pieces.
I doubt that I would ever buy outriggers but who knows. I just dont want to interfere with the operation of any future outriggers if there is a. Ive been rolling with just my handheld VHF which has kept us close to shore but now I want to install a regular VHF and an 8 antenna up on the T-Top.
I can easily mount it on one of the side rails of the T-top but Im wondering if there is another spot I should be considering. Regardless I will be using a ratchet mount so that I can stow the antenna in the down position. Thanks for any feedback.

I guess like most things it comes down to preference. It wasnt very difficult to install on top and my personal preference was to have it off the handrail. Its not difficult to reach to raiselower as I mounted it off-center on the starboard side.
